Should I stay in Canggu or Ubud as a solo female traveller?
Canggu suits you if you want cafés, coworking and beach life; Ubud suits you if you want jungle calm, yoga and a slower pace. Many women split their stay between both.
Both are among the most popular bases for women travelling alone, and both have strong communities of solo travellers.
Canggu
Café culture, coworking spaces, beach sunsets and a social scene that makes it easy to meet other travellers. It is busier, louder and more traffic-heavy.
Ubud
Jungle views, yoga studios, rice-field walks and a noticeably calmer rhythm. Evenings are quieter, which many women love — and some find too quiet.
If you have two weeks or more, spending time in both is the classic move.
