Can men book through Sistays?

No. During the beta phase, Sistays is open exclusively to women travellers in Bali. This allows us to focus on women's travel needs, test safety processes, and support providers who prefer women-led bookings. Male bookings may be considered in the future once safety systems are established.

Is Bali safe for solo female travellers?

Bali is generally considered one of the safer destinations in Southeast Asia for solo women travellers, but risks still exist, particularly around transport, scams, poorly vetted services, and nightlife. Sistays focuses on what can be controlled: verified stays, drivers, guides, and experiences, along with clear safety guidelines in Bali.

How does Sistays keep women travellers safer?

Sistays verifies partners through identity checks, business documentation, references, and women-focused safety reviews in Bali. Partners are monitored continuously and can be removed if standards are not met.

How is Sistays different from Booking.com or GetYourGuide?

Sistays combines stays and experiences like general booking platforms, but with a curated, women-led model in Bali. Only verified partners are listed, and bookings are controlled by women travellers. While most platforms optimise for scale and price, Sistays prioritises trust, accountability, and transparency.

Is it really free to join Sistays?

There is no cost to join Sistays. All booking-enabled profiles are free to create and maintain. After launch, a commission may apply only when a booking is made, and only to booking-based profiles. There are no listing fees or fixed payments. Early partners receive 0% commission for the first 3 months.

How does Sistays verify partners?

We check your online presence and reviews on platforms like Google Maps, TripAdvisor, or Instagram. If you are new or don't have reviews yet, we can do a short online interview instead. Later, the verification process will include secure ID verification inside the platform.

What does verified mean on Sistays?

Verification includes identity checks, business verification, and a safety-focused review of services. For drivers and guides, this also includes licence checks, vehicle details, and references.

How are drivers vetted?

Drivers must submit valid licences, vehicle details, and ID, and are interviewed for safety, communication, and reliability in Bali. Drivers experienced with solo female travellers are prioritised.

What if I feel unsafe during a booking?

You can report safety concerns via your booking page, messaging, or Support. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours, and partners may be temporarily paused. Sistays may provide practical assistance, such as sharing local emergency contacts. Travellers are strongly advised to have travel insurance.

We are launching in 2026. You'll be among the first partners to be featured when we go live.

How do I avoid taxi and transport scams in Bali?

Use ride-hailing apps or the official airport counter, agree the price before you get in a private car, and never accept a ride from someone who approaches you.

The transport scams in Bali are annoying rather than dangerous, and easy to sidestep:

Drivers at the airport or harbour offering rides before the official counter — always walk past them
"The meter is broken" — either agree a fixed price upfront or book through an app instead
Fake Grab or Gojek drivers calling your name at pickup points — check the plate and driver name in the app before getting in

When in doubt, order through the app. The price is fixed, the ride is tracked, and you have the driver's details.
